Dia de los Muertos Challenge

Remember the Bob-Whites' trip to Arizona?  They learned of a special "Día de los Muertos," or Day of the Dead, celebrated by the Orlando family, who could trace their origins back to the Aztecs.  This ritual has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years, and this year, Anna, Kate, and Dana invite you to celebrate, too!  That is why we are offering up our Día de los Muertos Challenge.  This challenge is a two-fold challenge—both a writing and graphics challenge.  Read on to find out more!

Writing Challenge

The story should be a spooky story involving the dead that includes:

That's it!  We've chosen to include very few elements around a special theme hoping that more writers will "play along."

Although the original 2005 Día de los Muertos celebration is finished, new story submissions will be accepted for this challenge at any time.  We're not going to turn away fanfic!

Days of Remembrance

In the spirit of Día de los Muertos, on November 1 and 2, 2005, as Mexico is celebrating its Day of the Dead, the Jixemitri MB celebrated its own Día de los Muertos.  The MB had a special thread for everyone to honor and remember special people they lost.  The tributes were all touching and beautiful.  It has been recreated and preserved.

Other Stuff
